The Heavy Hitter DJ KoolKirk

BIO

This is DJ Kool Kirk. Born and raised in the Boogie Down Bronx. The first time that I ever touched a turntable was at the age of 7 years old from my father William Myvett. I use to play records for my dad when he would have company over. I was not able to read the title of the records but I would memorize the music with the album covers.

I was influenced by local DJ around my neighborhood from 178th st and Creston to The Grand Concourse. RIP to DJ Waidee, he made a difference in my life, RIP DJ Gordo, DJ Cano, DJ Mike, DJ Midnight. I always hung out at Wade 117 JR HighSchool with DJ Rodney Rock, Ron Kay, Ron Ski, My dude Rap Master Dee! WOW!! Writing this BIO is taking me way back. I mean these DJ’s were at the top of their class!

If you do the math you will see that I have been around for a very long time. In 1991 I started getting into the mixtape game and that’s when the money started rolling in. At the time there were a bunch of heavy weights out there like: DJ Kid Capri, StarSki, Star Child, Brucie Bee, Holly Wood and the list goes on. I admit, I wont say that every mixtape I did was hot but I had a few under my belt that was hot. I will name a few for reference: Money Train 1,2 and 3, Meth Vs. Chef, DMX Vs. Cannibus, Wilding out 2000 Part 1 and 2, Rumble in the Bronx, I also did a couple of Classic Mixtapes with my close friend The Original DJ Precise (Whats up Bro?!).

In the year 2000 I became part of the hottest DJ crew in the world called “The Heavy Hitters” and I also started a T-shirt company named “BoroTees”, Yes correct “Those Bronx Tshirts” were part of “ BoroTees “ So if you really liked those shirts, it was all me. Well that’s me in a nut Shell.

PEACE!! DJ KOOL KIRK
